Anxiety is one of the most common - and most treatable - mental health conditions. You don't have to white-knuckle your way through it.
Anxiety is more than feeling stressed or worried. It's a persistent, often exhausting state of alertness - as though your nervous system is stuck on high. When anxiety becomes chronic, it can interfere with sleep, relationships, work, and your ability to enjoy your own life.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) involves ongoing worry about many different areas of life. Social anxiety involves intense fear of judgment in social situations. Health anxiety creates persistent worry about illness. All of these are real, recognized conditions - and all respond well to treatment.
Anxiety often co-occurs with depression, sleep problems, and physical symptoms. A thorough evaluation helps untangle what's driving things so that care can be targeted and effective.
In our first visit, I take time to understand not just your symptoms but the full context of your life - your history, your stressors, what you've already tried, and what matters most to you. Anxiety treatment is rarely one-size-fits-all, and I don't treat it that way.
Depending on your needs, we may use medication, supportive therapy, or both. I also incorporate psychoeducation - helping you understand what's happening in your body and mind - because knowledge itself can reduce anxiety. All care is delivered via telehealth across Virginia, in English or Tiếng Việt.
