A little about who I am and why this work matters to me.
Alice Tran, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, is a dual board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. With years of clinical experience and specialized training in psychiatric care, Alice evaluates and manages a wide range of psychiatric conditions for adults ages 18 to 60, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, sleep disorders, and mood disorders.
Alice also provides evidence-based psychotherapy to address anxious and depressed thoughts, emotional dysregulation, trauma, multicultural issues, and relational concerns, including boundary issues, unhealthy relationship patterns, and LGBTQ+ issues.
Alice is a proud product of immigration and fluent in Vietnamese. She has a deep passion for working with international students, immigrants, and minorities — people who have often felt that the mental health system wasn't quite built for them.
Alice holds two Master of Science in Nursing degrees, one specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and another in Family Nurse Practitioner.

Supervised training under Dr. Errol Segall, MD
Alice received additional psychiatric training and supervision under Dr. Errol Segall, MD, a highly respected psychiatrist with over 50 years of experience, consistently recognized as one of the top psychiatrists in Virginia, and previously a member of the clinical faculty at Georgetown University Medical School.
Alice believes in the importance of both medication management and therapeutic interventions. Her goal is to collaborate with her patients, fostering a safe, open environment where you can work together toward your optimal mental health goals.
No rushed intakes. No one-size-fits-all checklists. Your first visit is a full hour because your story deserves the time.
Sleep, family, faith, food, work, loneliness, purpose. Mental health lives within a life, and we will make space for all of it.
Culture, language, background, and belonging shape how we heal. Tiếng Việt is welcome here, along with all that you carry.
Alice provides affirming, nonjudgmental care for LGBTQ+ individuals, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, nonbinary, queer, and questioning people. She understands that identity, gender, and sexuality are deeply personal, and that these experiences can shape mental health in meaningful ways. Whether you are navigating coming out, gender transition, family acceptance, relationship stress, or simply looking for a provider who gets it, this is a space where you don't have to explain yourself first. You belong here.
Outside of her professional life, Alice enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and her dog. She also loves cooking, making art, and hiking on weekends.
Seeking help takes real strength, and I want you to know that you don't have to do this alone. My hope is to offer a space that feels safe and unhurried — somewhere you can be honest, feel genuinely heard, and receive care that is thoughtful, kind, and centered on you as a whole person.
If this is your first time seeing a psychiatric provider, the process may feel more familiar than you expect. The first appointment is simply a conversation — a chance to understand your experiences, your symptoms, your goals, and what you're hoping care might feel like. From there, we build something together.
It's worth knowing that what shows up as anxiety, low mood, difficulty focusing, or emotional exhaustion can sometimes have roots beyond what's visible — things like hormonal shifts, thyroid changes, medication effects, or other physical factors that deserve a thoughtful look. A careful evaluation considers all of this, not just the symptoms on the surface.
Sometimes a clear picture emerges in the first visit. Other times, understanding develops gently over a few appointments. Either way, my approach is collaborative and unhurried — the goal is always for you to leave feeling a little more supported, a little more understood, and a little more confident in the path ahead.
If you are in crisis right now, please do not wait for an appointment.
