About this practice

Care that understands what rotating shifts do to a person.

Hopewell’s economy runs around the clock, and so do its stressors: rotating shifts that scramble sleep for decades, plant-town economics that tie whole households to a handful of employers, and a culture of toughness that treats exhaustion as a badge. The science is blunt about what rotating work does to sleep, mood, and anxiety; Hopewell deserves care that takes that seriously.

From Hopewell, Alice sees insomnia that has outlasted every home remedy; irritability at home that is really depression wearing work boots; anxiety about layoffs and lines that never fully switches off; and spouses and parents absorbing the household stress the plant schedule creates.

Alice Tran is a dual board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC) treating adults 18 to 65 for anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, insomnia, and burnout, entirely by secure telehealth for Hopewell patients. Most major insurance is accepted, including Medicaid and Medicare, and new patients are typically seen within one to two weeks.

Rotating-shift insomnia

Decades of swing shifts leave real damage. Proper sleep evaluation and treatment, not just another pill.

Depression in work boots

Short-tempered, checked-out, and always tired is a treatable pattern, not a personality.

Plant-town anxiety

When the whole household depends on one employer, the worry is rational, and still treatable when it takes over.

The spouse at home

Shift schedules stress the whole family. Care for the one holding the household rhythm together.

Your first appointment

What your first appointment looks like

Your first visit is a full psychiatric evaluation over secure video, about an hour: what brought you in now, your sleep, energy, mood and focus, your medical history, and what you have tried before. It is a conversation, not an interrogation, and you set the depth on anything difficult.

You leave with an initial diagnosis explained in plain language and a treatment plan you helped shape. Prescriptions go electronically to your local pharmacy the same day when medication is part of the plan, and the first follow-up lands two to four weeks later so treatment gets adjusted on real results.

Medication management

Medication management, statewide

Alice prescribes and manages the full range of psychiatric medications: antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, stimulant and non-stimulant ADHD treatments, mood stabilizers, and sleep medications. Every choice is explained: why this one, what to expect in the first weeks, and which side effects matter.

Follow-ups run closer together while doses are adjusted and space out once you are stable. Partial improvement is treated as a signal to optimize, not a stopping point, and refill questions between visits get answered.

Supportive psychotherapy

Supportive psychotherapy included

Appointments include supportive psychotherapy: practical, evidence-informed work on the stress, thought patterns, and habits underneath the symptoms. For many patients, medication plus meaningful conversation with one clinician is exactly the right level of care.

When structured weekly therapy such as CBT or trauma-focused work would add value, Alice says so plainly and helps you find a therapist, then coordinates so both halves of treatment pull together.

Quick answers

Questions from Hopewell patients

Can appointments fit a rotating schedule?

Yes. Follow-ups are 30 minutes by video, Monday through Thursday between 9 and 4, and re-slotting around your rotation is normal here.

Do you take Medicaid?

Yes, plus Medicare, Anthem, Aetna, Cigna, and most major plans.

Can anything actually fix shift-work sleep?

A lot can: schedule-aware sleep strategies, treating the anxiety or depression tangled with it, and careful medication when appropriate. It starts with an evaluation, not a prescription.

Is this private in a town where everyone knows the plant?

Fully: no waiting rooms, no local sightings, records HIPAA-protected in an independent practice.

How fast can I be seen?

Typically one to two weeks.

Where do prescriptions go?

Same day, electronically, to any Hopewell pharmacy.

Do you coordinate with my plant’s occupational health?

Only with your written permission, and only what you approve. Your care belongs to you, not your employer.

What about emergencies?

Not a crisis service. Call or text 988, contact District 19 CSB, or go to John Randolph’s emergency department.
