Towson is Baltimore County’s hub: a university town, a courthouse town, and a medical town all at once. Alice Tran, PMHNP-BC offers psychiatric care by secure telehealth for the students, clinicians, and professionals who keep it moving.
Book a Telehealth Appointment →Towson wears several hats at once. Towson University brings more than 19,000 students, many living away from home for the first time and many more juggling classes with jobs. GBMC, the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, and a dense cluster of practices make it a healthcare employment hub. Add the county courthouse, law firms, and the professionals commuting down I-83, and you have a community where everyone is carrying more than one role.
Each of those roles has its own mental health profile. Students face the ages when anxiety disorders, depression, and ADHD most often surface or finally get taken seriously. Nurses and physicians carry burnout and the stigma of seeking care inside their own industry. And plenty of Towson adults simply hit their late twenties or thirties and realize the overwhelm they have normalized has a name and a treatment.
Appointments are by secure telehealth anywhere in Maryland, which fits dorm rooms, hospital break rooms, and home offices equally well. Maryland visits are self-pay, no referral is needed, and new patients are typically seen within one to two weeks.
Anxiety, depression, and ADHD at the exact ages they peak. Care that works around exam schedules and does not require a car.
GBMC and St. Joseph staff know better than anyone how hard it is to be the patient. Discreet telehealth care that respects both your knowledge and your privacy.
Comprehensive multi-visit evaluations for students and professionals, including the high performers who compensated for years.
From first-time treatment to second opinions after a medication that never quite worked.
Yes. Telehealth visits fit into a free hour on campus, and follow-ups are typically 30 minutes. If you go home for the summer, care continues as long as you are in Maryland, or in Virginia, where Alice is also licensed.
They complement each other. University counseling is excellent for therapy but often limited for psychiatric evaluation and medication management, which is exactly what this practice provides. Coordination with your counselor is welcome.
Fully HIPAA-protected, no waiting rooms, and no chance of running into a colleague. Records stay within this practice unless you direct otherwise.
Not at this time. Maryland visits are self-pay: $400 for the initial evaluation and $200 for a 30-minute follow-up. Nothing is billed to insurance and no claim is filed. See Rates for details.
